Pia Zadora Beach Hosue

This is Pia Zadora’s Beach House in Malibu which lists at $22 Million currently. It is known as the former Malibu property of actress and singer Pia Zadora. It is built in a classic coastal style which I personally do not like but it is positioned for direct ocean views which is one of my favorite things ever. It is surrounded by mountains and palm trees, giving it a strong California vibe. Malibu beachfront homes like this are usually valued in the multi-million dollar range. The house has a traditional American beach houses look which I learned that I did not like. You can see a symmetrical front façade and light blue exterior color. It has gabled roof shape and white trim and railings. This style is most common in East Coast beach homes but adapted here for California. The home sits slightly elevated above the sand and this helps protect it form tides, storms waves, flooding and so much more and I think I can maybe use this in my own design. The reason why I chose to write about this even though I did not like the structure is because I realised that sometimes I should also put out things I do not like and critisize them. Another thing I did not like was how it has an old grandma house style. In my opinion, a beach house with this great view should not be wasted. I would use its potential for good and create a more bohemian styled house with a more beige and wooden toned color scheme. Maybe it is just me who does not like this style but I like buildings who are more on the luxury or “young” side. However I really like the large wide glass windows and upper level balcony with open ratio facing the ocean and I plan on using these on my own design too. This shows that how a design can have good and bad features but it is your decision to get inspired from the good sides.
